Are you successful at marketing your own company?
Have you ever had a customer come into your business and tell you
"Wow, until today I never knew you were here." Did that statement "jar"
you? If not, it should have shaken you
to the bone. Presence in your industry
and your local market is crucial and the successful marketing of your products
and services on a regular basis can be the single most important factor in your
company's lifeblood... and its future.
A common mistake made by business owners today is settling into a
complacent pattern of business they have come to know. Same customers, same product, same service.
Let me ask you some questions.
Do you regularly track sales with current customers as well as new
customers? Do you stay in contact with
your customer base? Do you make it easy for them to contact you? Do you let your customers know you have new
products and services to offer, if any?
Do you offer a variety of specials to retain your customer base (if you
do, can you measure results of those promotions)? Do you give them a reason to come back by offering more and
better service than your competitors?
In the next newsletter, we will provide some suggestions that can
make simple answers of these questions.

health and your presence in the market area you serve!

With the Internet becoming a necessity for current business,
business owners tend to only look at the cost of getting online without taking
into account the potential risks they may be opening themselves up to. Implementing a risk management plan can help
not only limit a company's liability, but also limit the effects hacking or
virus's (such as the recent W32.Novarg.A @ mm/W32.Mydoom @ MM) can have on the
company. Statistics show that 60% of
companies that experience an information systems failure affecting them longer
then 5 days, go out of business shortly thereafter. Ways to limit this risk include installation of firewalls and
anti-virus protection software.
Instating properly written security policies, which cover topics such
as; acceptable use, ethics, and information sensitivity will assist in
preventing many disasters and potential lawsuits.

There is now a federal Computer Emergency Response Team
(CERT). These teams deal strictly with
information system threats and vulnerabilities such hackers, viruses, and
operating system flaws.
