Jessica Erickson has authored an article called “Automating Your Business Processes” in July edition of Truck parts & service that contains quotes from three members of the PLUSS Corporation family.

We have had a great response about the information security interviews with our constituents.  The most common suggestions we have had so far are to incorporate UPS battery backups and software updates. 2.) BALANCING YOUR CUSTOMERS RECEIVABLES ACCOUNTS

FORMULA FOR A BALANCED RECEIVABLES ACCOUNT

The formula for a balanced receivables account is (Unapplied + paid = deposits) or (paid records = payments).

For an account to be in balance the paid records must match the payments. So first we must understand what makes up the paid records.

The paid records are made up of any amounts in the unapplied column on the R screen and the total transaction on the P. Screen. The payments are the actual checks or cash applied to the account and are the total of the transactions on the D. Screen.

So for an account to be in balance the paid records (unapplied on R screen+ P screen) must = the payments (D screen).

3.) SPECIAL DISOUNTING

Many companies offer special pricing above and beyond the price levels set up in Customer Maintenance.  This may be done as a special incentive for repeat customers who do a high volume of business with you.  In PTM this is known as price matrixing and can be customized for specific customers needs.  Price matrixing can be customized and different for each customer or you may have a setup that you use on various customers. In this document we will be discussing how to set this up for an individual and how to build a default account for a matrix table that you use often that can be imported into any customers file.

Even though we at PLUSS have contact with a good portion of PTM users on a weekly basis, there are cases when we don’t hear from many “partners” for months at a time.  There are several thousand PTM users in the various industries and unfortunately we do not have the resources to stay in contact with all of you on a regular basis.  It is helpful, however, when the relationship is two-sided.  If you feel you do not have a reason to call us, be sure and check out the www.pluss.net website to stay informed.  It is loaded with information about past, current, and new technologies and strategies.

PTM Barcode SystemPTM has had POS barcode software for many years.  Approximately 2 years ago, the Shop Management side of the barcode system was developed to bring better parts control on workorders.  Using PSC’s Percon Topgun handheld barcode reader, you can scan parts to multiple workorders at a time and drop those parts directly to respective workorders with a few keystrokes.  Counting inventory by bin, aisle, or even a complete inventory is now made easy as well.  Call the sales department for pricing and details.

PTM Warranty Co-Pay module:  This module handles the warranty portion covered by the manufacturer, the customer and your company all on one invoice, the invoice prints with all the information broken down for your customer to understand.  $350.00

Workorder Scheduling Module:  This is a scheduling enhancement for Work In Progress.  PTM’s scheduler can integrate with your work in progress and potential work.  A potential job can be scheduled with out starting a Work order.  Your potential job can be inserted into the schedule for a technician, with unit information and the customer’s name.  When the job is brought in you can automatically start a Work order from the schedule or if the job cancels it can simply be deleted from the techs schedule.  While in an open Work order you can schedule the job with the press of a button-assign the job to a tech, assign hours and return to the open Work order.  $195.00
