Low Investment Marketing

Most business owners desperately want to successfully market their products and services to impact prospective customers in their target markets. However, there is a misconception that it will cost tens of thousands of dollars for a consultant to produce ideas and campaigns that will then cost thousands more to implement. Not true if you are at all creative and "in touch" with the trends of today. There are many marketing tactics and strategies owners and managers can put into motion themselves. Here are a couple of ideas:

Direct Mailing - If you do not have a detailed list of your current customers, build one! You are going to want to send materials to them along with a list of prospects in your target area. Consider purchasing a current prospect list from a reputable listing vendor so you get the most profitable results. Study the list and eliminate prospects that do not necessarily fall into your business category so you gain the most qualified customers. If necessary, contract a specialist to develop a marketing document for you.

Sponsor Community Events - Position your company favorably in the community by getting involved as a public service contributor. Participate or sponsor events or functions that can range from "little guy football" to "meals on wheels" for the inbound to free work for local charities. Donate products or services for raffles, drawings, or other community events that will put your company in good light. By working these events with key personnel, it lends opportunity to "press the flesh" and develop new relationships that are guaranteed to generate new and/or more business.

The phrase "computer network" leaves a bad taste in a lot of our mouths with as much as we fight them. There are ways though to help pinpoint the cause of performance and reoccurring damaged files. The best way to track down a bad connection is to change the way you go about networking. Instead of sharing the files over a network, setup a Terminal server/Citrix connection and make the server to all the work. This may increase the speed, integrity, and availability of your data. What is nice about this trouble shooting method is that if the problems still exist, the network probably did not cause the issues you were having. However, if one or more stations keep disconnecting you have just found the problem system(s).
